Sometimes fear of the Lord is what keeps us in line, and what is wrong with that? Its the outcome that matters.

From back in the 40s and 50s, it was ‘Jewish Mothers’ and ‘Nuns’ who tended to keep all in enough of a ‘guilt trip’ to keep everyone in line and if you weren’t subject to either you probably knew someone who was and that would also work.
OH yes, Alan Funt was also lurking behind every lamp post seeing if he/they could catch YOU picking up that bill from the sidewalk and putting it in your pocket before ‘pretending’ to search for the ‘owner’..
Another ‘guilt trip’ that seemingly worked ... Whenever in a spot of ‘What would ??? do’, I search for and listen for ‘SMILE, YOU’RE ON CANDID CAMERA’.
Has worked so far....<: <: <:
Do we all have a natural impulse to just grab stuff off the store shelves and walk out without paying? Of course. That’s human instinct; to just take what we want. There’s nothing wrong with it until you find out there are laws that will put you in jail for doing it; for just following your instincts. So it forces us to use our rationality instead and leave it on the shelf. That’s fear of the government, keeping society functioning. Fear of the Lord acts in a similar way but on a spiritual level.
