Decades ago in FL our house had an “L” shape at the back with a lot of glass facing the pool. My father had a channel cut into the concrete close to the exterior walls and another channel put in the eave above. Correlated sheet metal with top and bottom pounded flat would slide into place along the tracks and seal up the house.

Sounds like he had a great plan! In the years we were there Lowes/HD had corrugated steel panel systems you could install with steel tracks/channels. The plywood was exhausting but worthwhile for our property.
