This whole issue has always been a crack up for me. All foods are organic. I let others pay the “label tax”. It makes my food cheaper. The stuff I don’t grow myself, that is.

>>Prosecutors say Constant falsely marketed non-organic corn and soybeans as certified organic on a massive scale. His sales amounted to 7 percent of organic corn grown in the U.S. in 2016 and 8 percent of the organic soybeans. Overall, from 2010 to 2017, he sold more than 11.5 million bushels of grain, or enough to fill 3,600 rail cars, prosecutors said.
What did the people who say they can taste the difference say?

>>Prosecutors had introduced evidence that Constant often traveled to Las Vegas during the scheme, spending money on gambling and women with whom he had sexual relationships.
What does paying to have sex with women have to do with using non-organic feed for chickens and cows that were then sold as organic?
The prosecutors should’ve been rebuked by the judge for the introduction of salacious claims that had no bearing on the crime under trial.

More “organic food” is consumed in the US each year than is produced.

I believe much if not most organic food is a fraud.
Actually all food is organic. I mean youre not eating rocks. Bugs are the hardest thing to get rid of. DDT was the best safest stuff. But of course that Rachel Carson stopped that killing millions (I read billions) with malaria and starvation. Its what Marxists do.

That kind of grain probably went to livestock feed. So he was ripping off other farmers.

“Big organic foods fraud” fraud. The whole organic foods thing is a scam to separate people who don’t know anything about growing plants from their money.
However my neighbor used to have a small section of his farm growing “organic” vegetables. He thought it was pretty profitable. People from the city paid a lot more.

My experience is those who buy into the whole organic scheme are looking for something to worship. Organic foods are also much more expensive, but these people pay more because they believe it makes them superior. All foods are organic. I could start a similar scam, and sell bottle water that has the label Hydropathic Water. I could charge 70% more and make a fortune from the fools who would buy it.
