I think the key trait of a GOOD interviewer is not just to have a list of questions to ask, but to be able to adjust the questions based on the answers to the initial list.

There’s nothing more frustrating as a listener/watcher than to have a answer that has new or stunning information that gets missed by the interviewer because they’re reading the next question; trying to play Gotcha!; or just not understanding the answer at all.

Bah! Most of the various news shows are full of terrible interviewers who are vain and stupid. Arrogant while ignorant... A horrible combination, really!

I agree. You’re absolutely right!

Also, having a keen interest in the subject matter is helpful along with a bit of knowledge. I despise interviewers who attempt to fake it.
