Actually, there is scuttlebutt. It’s wrong, but there is. Rush spent considerable time on it this week.
This is the way I see it:
(But first, let me just say I am not a BU Economics graduate like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez... So... anyway...)
Getting China—or any country—to play fair when trading with our country is an eminently reasonable thing for an American president to do. To continue bending over and taking it in the behind isn’t.
That’s it.
People might not like having to suffer some in order to standup to them, but it’s gotta be done.
We can’t keep kicking this can down the road. Grownups have to act.
Anyone not a moron, or an BU Economics graduate, can see this.
First let me insert then Im watching President Trump old TV now doing a press conference like he does before he gets on a plane. Man he was really knocking Fox He complained about Juan Williams he said somethings wrong with fox Im always down in their polls, it was great.
Well of course youre right, AB. One thing that I learned, and I consider myself a political junkie of sorts, is I didnt know that Europe was cheating on us all in NATO. Then there was that deal with Iran. Now were learning about the green cards how they were abused. We learned how terrible the immigrant problem is.
We need the adults to be in charge for a while.
Like I didn't hear Texas Truck Driver on Rush "this week" hold forth on "Trump blinked" vs. China.
That is exactly when Rush invites people on to do his work without having to say it himself. Every non-Friday caller is there solely to advance Rush's dialectic.
Do you understand that's how it works? When Rush wants to make fun of something -- like the #MSM weak shit/trial balloon #2020Narrative venture about "Market crash = Trump blinked" -- he invites someone marginally informed on global economics precisely to tear down the "Trump blinked" assertion.
Geebus he had the hook set in Truckie until Truckie said it "doesn't affect my Trump support in 2020". Then Rush cut him off, as Truckie upended Rush's opportunity to pursue his dialectic to the end and school Truckie. Instead he wrapped the ready lecture into 8 seconds and out into commercial. Show over.
The problem is not so much the tariffs they will cheat once they are enforced anyway. The bigger problem is we should never depend on one main source. Production needs to be split up so when one source goes south we have others.
This way, it gives the retailers an additional year to come up with doo dads and Christmas stuff from non-tariff countries.
More profits, less suffering.
