I noticed that as well. Strange. There were several people who were turned away at tonight's rally.... they called into Howie Carr's radio show earlier tonight. (Howie is a Boston-based conservative talk show host)
Why weren't people allowed to fill those seats in the upper decks?
I was watching it closed feed and hour and a half before it started, and they moved a bunch of folks down into the area right behind Trump and the floor in front of him. So while the legal capacity for seating was probably filled, many packed down onto the lower areas. Legal capacity can be a problem for events like this, they can’t always cram as many as they would like in there.
My sister and I were discussing this. And also why he was held up so long before his appearance. And why he wasn’t as rowdy tonight — different in some way. We had heard that the Rats were planning to cause major trouble at this rally, and infiltrate the audience. Maybe there were extra security precautions.
I looked for a thread when I got in (yes!!) And found only one about the Herald. Also service sucked for me. Yes, upper decks not full, Fire Marshall cut off crowd at capacity. I rode elevator up at hotel with firefighters for Trump who did not get in. They said easily as many outside as in.
Fire code always 11,716 people into the building. There were at least 2000 standing on the floor.
