Our "government" cannot be fixed through conventional means.

So I guess the question at this point is, do we even need to bother trying?

Can we carve out decent lives for ourselves under their system, or is their overreach eventually going to become to too great - is their resentment of anyone not under their direct control living better than a peasant going to grow to the point that The Average have no scope to live?

Honestly, I think we are still along way from that. This is Game of Thrones - the insiders cutting each other's throats and staging this massive Left vs. Right puppet show to keep the public's eyes off of their systematic looting.

"Fighting back" may temporarily empower one faction of puppets or another, but never touches the masterminds. There is no way to hurt what you haven't even really seen, yet. Identifying certain consumer products or certain taxable income streams for boycott efforts might help, but clearly the Nikes and Gillettes are not worried about public opinion - or even short-term losses.

Or is it best to just use their system to succeed and become a minor point of power yourself? These are questions that are too big for me. :)

Great question - worthy of consideration and lengthy discussion.

Actually your entire post could be the basis for one college-level course.
