I am no expert. But I do have some understanding of the history of the USSR. Stalin’s people did commit mass atrocities. The Katyn Massacre, for example. But to my knowledge, there were no camps where arriving inmates were routinely sorted out, and then many were immediately put to death.
Sure, many inmates were worked to death. And some individuals were quickly executed. But to equate a gulag camp with Auschwitz is, I think, a mistake.
Anyhow, I’m not quite sure why we are arguing about this. My point was that I simply don’t think all - or even most - leftists want to see us in death camps. You are, of course, free to disagree with that.
And I won’t call your counter-argument “silliness”. I don’t like to insult my fellow FReepers, even though I might strongly disagree with them. I prefer civil discussions. And heck, sometimes I might even learn something that way.

Simply take pictures of the miscreant and put them on the internet so future tribunals will have evidence to send them off their proper reward for siding with evil.
Folks living in a megapolis reachable only by bridges and tunnels already lives in a death camp, if and when the water and power are cut off.

Actually, I figure that it'll be more like 1918. Lasted about 4 months there, and killed off about 1% of their population.[ counting POW camp deaths and summary executions of prisoners by shooting/bayonet] Our American Civil War took the better part of four years to manage 2%.
