My house was at the end of Tennyson - just south of Linda. The swim club was one block over from me.
I loved that house - double front doors, large slate foyer, sunken living room. We had a HUGE calico cat that would go hunting at night in the reserve - I named him Zonker. I hate cats but the Z-man was cool. Anyway, if my wife and I were sitting on our back patio, Zonker would inevitably bring back the birds he killed and deposited them at our feet...like his trophies.
Sadly, my wife lost a battle with breast cancer at 28 and, because we chose experimental drugs due to the initial dire prognosis, I was forced to sell the house to pay the uninsured medical costs.
Still, some good memories from that house and time...
Sorry to hear that about your wife. That is terrible. We lived at the end of Barnett Drive close to the reserve. We were also members of the swim club. Small world. As a member of FR, it’s good to see that you turned out alright. :)
My goodness, 28. My wife made it to 63 until passing of the same affliction and she was still much too young.
