The Best schools in New Mexico don’t come even close to the best ones in Mass. Mass schools are excellent.
What I was trying to say, perhaps not clearly, is that the best schools in New Mexico would be superior to the worst schools in Massachusetts. And that these statewide rankings are questionable to me, because of such variation within states in the quality of schools in different communities.
