Why? The US needs to stand tall for itself and its native born citizens. Hong Kong is not our problem. China is our enemy and we should treat it as such but this is an internal Chinese matter. The UK walked away in 1997. I was in Hong Kong then and I sure had the send Hong Kong citizens were quite comfortable with the transition back to China.
