You were lucky you were never a catholic, but at least I got to experience what it is like to be delivered from a false religious cult.
People called us mackerel snappers. Some got offended by that. Since I was a rebellious catholic, and I didn’t really want to be a catholic anyway, it didn’t bother me. I was kind of waiting for my chance to leave the church. That opportunity came, after I joined the Air Force. I got away from mom and dad, and left the church once and for all. They didn’t like it, but they said, “you don’t act like a catholic anymore. You don’t live like hell, the way you used to.” I thought to myself, well, duh... 😁
