That’s good news. That’s such a pretty area up there; if I was planning to stay in Arizona after I retire Flagstaff would be an attractive option.

I just saw that the fire broke over the crest and is running down to the south towards Flag.

I found my copy of the book about it - “On the Burning Edge” by Kyle Dickman, a former firefighter from a crew known as the Tahoe Hotshots. I bought it used online. There are maps and pictures in the book of the safe area they were trying to get to which was a ranch down the rugged terrain that was spared because the owners had cleared all the brush away. Very interesting look at how these things take place and the men who fight them. I don’t think they ever get proper credit - token words.. Look at the N. California fires last year - and how hard they fought those. Fire is a horrible thing. They all deserve our prayers for their safety when they’re out there.

Just got back from working near Williams>

Have three friends who worked on the fire line of that fire and have the crewman of one of the logging contractors working that worked on the logging jobs up there working on my crew now.

Anyway, I think I know what happened there. Got to wait till the investigation is over before I will comment. Then I will explain it.

I have been so busy with a sick husband and problems around the house that I haven’t checked on the fire. Thanks for staying in touch and yes, I would be interested in the cause etc. I take that the fire is 100% contained now. I can look it up but thank you anyway.

They are getting close to the cause. Just leave it at that for now.

And yes, its out for now.

Hope things get better for you though.
