Worst idea possible. High school grads are usually 18 so lowering the age also means lowering the level of intelligence. Most 16-year-olds don’t even know what they want for supper for crying out loud. With all the high technology used today in what possible position could they serve anyway? I found myself back in the 60’s surrounded by McNamara’s 100 Thousand. You old-timers know what happened there!

If the services can’t get quality recruits, start up the draft again.

McNamara’s 100 Thousand. (called McNamara’s Morons with good reason) was while the draft was in effect.

DO NOT bring back the draft - I worked with draftees. For the most part - worthless. The days for the need of massive armies is over.

How about we pull back from some of the 161 countries we currently have forces in now?

A small military? It could work....

Start up the draft again is a plus. Id love to see that guy who said “F the service” in the yt video, on his first week of boot camp.

“With all the high technology used today in what possible position could they serve anyway? “

IMO this kind of program should be a 5 year enlistment with GED type education included.

And there are plenty of teens around who excel at technology independent of their high school education.
