Of course it came at a cost and I have the deepest respect for those who have defended it, however if a nation’s population is not sufficiently motivated to join to defend it then there might be a problem with what we are fighting for, therefore I believe conscription is akin to slavery

If the US had not drafted men and fought WW1 then ww2 might have never happened, the USSR might have never existed, etc.

And as an FYI I’m well past the age limit to join the military but if the cause was just and the need existed I would find a way before supporting a draft

It’s obvious you have never deemed it necessary to to give back to this country. And don’t hand me that crap about taxes you paid Everyone pays taxes....everyone.

From the tone of your post I’m sure you never served and I doubt you’d be of any use if you did.

That happy horsesh*t about if we didn’t have the draft in WW1 we wouldn’t have gotten into WW2 is a real hoot! Let me guess, you are a huge fan of alternative history novels.
