Go along with it or not, it’s true. So what other forms of federal government control and regulation do you support?

I support the tariff except the Feds have been bought off on that. I believe in a well regulated border which we don't have.

We have a minimum wage so it is not true is it?

“We have a minimum wage so it is not true is it?”

Ask a worker at a buggy whip manufacturing plant. Or a painter or welder at an auto factory. Or a switch board operator. Or a bowling alley pinsetter. Or an elevator operator.

So instead of hiring two employees, they’ll hire just one. Stupid dems.

OK, defunct occupations prove what again? Offshored jobs are still being done, just not by Americans. Offshored jobs didn't disappear or became defunct, rather they went somewhere else. See the difference?

It’s not just about employee numbers.

It’s also about productivity.

You can’t reward better productivity with more money if you’re having to pay the less productive more.

I’m curious. Have you ever run a successful biz?

It proves that the intrinsic minimum value of any job classification is always zero. When the cost of labor exceeds the value of its productivity, that labor is eliminated. Technology and innovation produces ways to eliminate the work that was formerly considered essential. We saw it happen to gas station attendants. We are seeing it take place in the form of fast food order kiosks, and soon we’ll see it happen in the kitchens of those establishments. The robot burger flipper is here, and about to replace fry cooks.

It’s astonishing that anyone here would support government intervention to fix a problem created by government intervention. Are you sure you’re not a democrat?

So if true the min. wage is pushing forward the technology envelope! Is there nothing can’t do?

Possibly, but I doubt it.

No, it does NOT raise efficiency. It forces overwork on people. A major reason modern day workers make a conscious or unconscious decision to either exist in a constant over-stressed condition, or reduce quality. You cannot have your cake and eat it, too. Something has to give, and perhaps you might have noticed -— stressed out people are everywhere, and quality performance is way down. The result of producing twice the amount of widgets by half the number of workers, is a shoddy product, and/or burned out workers -— usually both.

Where in the Constitution is Congress granted the power to legislate employee wages?

This is a serious question; what part of the Constitution have they rationalized giving Congress the power to legislate wages?

The government has no business demanding private employers pay a certain level of pay. Let the market sort that out .

You’re using a video published by socialists to back your theory? BTW, you do realize that it’s not WalMart’s fault that someone is on food stamps, don’t you? If someone isn’t making enough at WalMart they are free to get a 2nd job or maybe even a 3rd to make ends meet. I’ve done just that in my life. Or they could do what I’ve done....study and get better skills to make yourself a valuable employee so that I could earn enough with one job or start my own business!!!

That is hardly the point. The minimum wage is used as a starting point for contract terms and it is usually some percentage above minimum wage or some dollar amount above minimum wage, so all entry level employees.

What logically flows from this then is that higher paid workers also need an offset to their current wage to equalize everything and “make it fair”, so everyon’e wage increases in the union. I’ve belonged to a few unions and have seen it more than once.

The government has no business demanding private employers pay a certain level of pay.

But wage slaves vote. You have to factor that into the equation WHETHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

I’ve done research. I can’t find ONE founder who was for so called “free trade”. Thank God for them.
