We never run out of those kind, do we? They should all be sterilized so they can’t produce more idiots!
“”I cant tell you how many people call it New Bronze fulls.””
While we’re giving English lessons, let focus on variants of:
“full” - “fulls”
several hand fulls - as opposed to - several hands full
several basket fulls - several baskets full
Bad samples but it’s been a long day!
LOL! I forgot all about Hamster Dance. I think I still have the link somewhere.
I think you mean 'jurbul'.
Honestly, that never occurred to me! I immediately imagined a white girl with her eyes filling with tears and her lips pouting. I would think of a different reaction from an AA girl.
These are the people staffing NASA now, and designing our high rises and bridges. God help us all.
You win!!!
I was taught in school to pronounce the "t" in "often".
They say that English is one of the more difficult languages to learn. Some of the main reasons is because many words are not spelled phonetically, words that are spelled similarly have vastly different pronunciations, and English is constantly breaking its own rules. It has many "rules" that aren't consistent.
But languages are dynamic things and can evolve or change over time.
So both versions of pronouncing the word may be correct.
I was also taught to pronounce the t.
No, it is the 'en' that should be omitted. Hast thou n'er read Shakespeare? Thou should do so oft, and not just of nonce.

I have heard the same thing for years about learning English - could be true - wouldn’t know since it’s my and no doubt your native language. I have read that Hungarian is the most difficult language to learn....Heck - it doesn’t appear any different in the written word than any other foreign language but I’ll accept it from those who know more than I do...
Please don’t use the “taught in school” argument on a boss. You may not have one as understanding as the millenniel’s boss was. That’s still unbelievable!
LOL. Your dad was a pretty fart smeller.
Vancouverites and Torontonians—more or less the same.
(I grew up on a rural portion of the Oregon Coast and now live far enough North in Ontario that half the folks in Toronto would think that we use dog sleds if they could find us on a map.)
I'm 72 and retired on my cattle farm.
I don't think my cows will care how I pronounce anything.
I’ve been wondering what happens to these snowflakes when they finally get away from the protection and indulgence of their families and colleges - here we are......
I had a 20-something, 6’ 4” tall Air Force airman start crying over my edits to his article, which of course he thought was perfect. His mistake was he quoted about 20 people in a 100 word article, rendering it unreadable. When I told him to pick the best two quotes and cut out the rest, he began blubbering and whining that I didn’t trust him. And we were deployed! He then left and complained to his master sergeant. She called me up to tell me how wrong I wrong I was to edit his work because he was “sh— hot.” Yeah. A sh— hot airman graduate of Defense Information School who didn’t know squat about basic news writing. Parents have really screwed up, failing to prepare their children for the real world.
...There is no P in hamster.
“I have no respect for a man who can spell a word only one way.”
M Twain (?)
Well she might be looser (for a guy trying to get some that’s a good thing), but she’s also a LOSER!
