Here is an account of the second story, often called the 1857 Layman's Prayer Revival, which began with a 12-1pm Businessman's Prayer Meeting in NYC.

LORD, please hear the prayers offered by Faith and others here.
Our nation is in need of You.
We are blessed that You heard our prayers and presented us a warrior to fight for this nation.
We pray he will do Your will in eliminating the moles which make the foundation of this nation highly unstable.
Please give him the necessities to erase Socialism,
Satan’s curse, from this world.
As always, we pray for our brethren, ill and injured,
that they be healed in spirit, mental, and physical health.
