I have been telling people about this for years. No one spends money on updating the power grid, fixing 50+ year old watermains, replacing piping that is pre WWI etc. All of these things no on sees until they fail. As they rarely fail politicians cannot do a photo-op standing next to a new substation.

Oh, but they just opened up a brand new state park in East New York, on 2 peninsulas which used to be landfills--Superfund sites, as it were. They named the park Shirley Chisholm State Park. Now THAT kind of pandering by Cuomo is important---never mind the city infrastructure.

I live near Milwaukee and part of the east side is on landfill and loose soil. As a result the ground is sinking slowly. People have found their doors don’ fit in the frame anymore and their rooms are slanted. Milwaukee will have to do what Chicago did and jack the city up a couple of inches.
