I believe it also said she died of blunt force impact trauma or some such.

How do they arrive at "first degree murder"? Does it not require premeditation?

While his car, which was travelling 17mph, did hit and minorly injure several others who did not get out of his way, he impacted a toyota which had a minvan (shifter was in PARK for both vehicles) and his car did not directly impact her, but moved the two vehicles. This girl was standing in front, facing the rear of the marron minivan that “hit” her. Diagnosis was blunt force cardiac contusion causing a heart attack.

I had thought I had read that they found her blood on his bumper, but perhaps I misunderstood. If it is as you describe, this verdict is bullsh*t.

This guy is a scapegoat and the court was heavily influenced by media propaganda designed to outrage people and whip them into a frenzy.

If that's true, then the only hope he ever had was an insanity defense.

If that's true, that might be where they got that "first degree" charge. Of course John S Mosby said that he didn't actually hit her with his car. He hit the back end of another car and caused a chain reaction, and one of the subsequent cars hit her and caused her to have a heart attack.
