I can’t say that I disagree with the general idea of taxing people that refuse to get insurance AND still expect to be taken care of by the state if they get sick or injured.

I think to do this right the state should give people the following choices:

1. get health insurance on your own, or

2. don’t get insurance but when you get sick or hurt, you’re on your own. No free emergency care, no free medical care from the state, county or city. You’ll have to depend on what you have, family, friends or charities. Taxpayers are off the hook...or

3. don’t get insurance, instead pay the state the equivalent of minimal health insurance through taxes. If you fail to do that then you’re back on #2.

As for the illegals crap, the whole thing is so disgusting it’s not even worth a comment other than that.
