But he’s stalks young women. I mean, I didn’t buy that last time around and still don’t. I defended him vehemently as a victim of a smear job. And ole Roy rewarded me by half-heartedly defending himself during an interview on a friendly conservative show.
Q: Is it true you stalked younger women when you were working as a DA?
A: I don’t recall it that way.
Q: One woman says you would come into the restaurant she was waitressing in and ask her out on dates and follow her out of the restaurant.
A: Not that I can recall.
Q: They are saying that you used to go after underage women and approach them in an inappropriate way, is that true?
A: I would not characterize it that way.
Q: So did you do this?
A: Let me be perfectly and unequivocally vague, I don’t recall every having done anything that can be characterized in that way and I will continue to sort of deny it so long as I don’t have to disturb my trip to PA.
And for those saying that we are in a “post Kavanaugh” world, let us contrast the two responses.
Again, I paraphrase:
Q: Did you ever pile on Ms. Ford at a party?
A: NO, and eff you for smearing me, my family and my reputation. I will say it loud and clear in case you missed it, you bunch of leftist smearing liberal a-holes, I DID NOT DO IT. This is a lie and a smear. I am sorry for whatever happened to Ms. Ford but it did not involve me.
Accused of sexually assaulting someone is not the same as accused of trying to flirt with them.
Clearly Roy Moore did not understand how this political game must be played. No half measures. The only appropriate response is full throated denial, and do not attempt to be fair to people making accusations against you.
Roy should have just said "no, I didn't stalk anyone", even if some girls may have thought he did.
In many cases, the difference between sexual harassment and flirting is whether or not the girl likes you. Unfortunately, young men will think the girl likes them because that's what they wish to believe, and sometimes they end up making fools of themselves.
No gray areas allowed in politics. Everything must be in stark black and white.
