Sacramento police appeared to struggle to get cooperation from bystanders Wednesday evening while cordoning off the scene of a shootout that led to the death of one of their own.
A video posted to Twitter by Matthew Keys, a digital editor at Comstock's Magazine, appears to capture neighborhood residents shouting back at officers....
“The only person we need to be safe from is you,” another woman off camera is heard shouting.
“Hey, stray bullets catch people, man,” the officer responds.
Another voice behind the camera berates a cop for wearing a gun, repeatedly calling him a “coward.”
“Take that gun off. I’ll whoop your little butt,” the woman says. “All y’all cowards.”
“We know they are,” says the first one.
“Y’all cowards. We got guns too,” another voice says.

Just the other day I was in line at the grocery store. Black gal with all sorts of stuff. Was moving along fine until it came to something that didn’t have the price tag on it.
“Okay - no problem, I’ll have them run a price check on it.”
“What! It was $9.99 - you don’t need a price check!” (I could tell from 15 feet away that the item wasn’t $9.99.)
“I’m sorry maam’ - store policy, it will only take a minute.”
(I switched over to the next line as she started getting more aggravated.)
“You saying I’m lying!!?? Is that what you’re saying!!”
“No, of course not maam. But we have to have....”
“Okay - well just forget it then. I don’t want it now anyway. Just ring me up.”
“Yes ma’m. The total is $62.49.”
“62.49!! How can that be!? You rang me up wrong. Let me see that receipt!!”
As I was leaving she was pulling stuff out of the order “Okay - how much is that!!?? I only got $43.00!! What - It’s still $58!!??....”
I’m guessing that they figure if they complain enough, and loudly enough, the young white kid manning the register will just give up and eat the $12.58.
Heh. Funny. More that once I’ve gone to pay cash for something and don’t have enough and start pulling out the credit card. The gal will wave her hand and say - oh - don’t worry about it. Granted - it is usually less than a dollar, but still.
California. Nuff said.

Let’s just peel back that thin veneer of civilization and take a peek of what’s in store....

Interesting. I have never heard that before, but somehow it makes sense.
You make some good points but may I mention that the Chinese saying is that a fish rots from the head first, and secondly have you looked at the pay scale and retirement package for law enforcement officers? They are highly paid to work with human debris, they volunteered for it.
And thirdly, and I take flak from some of grizzly FReepers every time I mention this, the policing model they use is all wrong. They are looked at, and act as, an invading force. Until that changes these events will happen. There is evil in our world, and we are seeing the affect on our lives of evil men and women in elected and appointed positions.
Much is mentioned about males born of multiple generations of single mothers but the answer to your question is what happens to females born of multiple generations of single mothers.
1) We're several generations in to all "black" people being taught to be nasty. Some manage to reject the lesson. Good for them. Others wallow in it.
2) It's a matriarchal culture; its in the nature of the beast.

I was at the local grocery mega mart yesterday. A woman in line in front of me was, in a thick Indian accent, double checking the price of every single item. Every single one.
She pulled 3 out of her pile and said she didn’t want them. Then she opened her wallet, which was stuffed full of cash, and pulled out a EBT card. She still had a balance of $11 or so after that.
She then argued with the checker for another couple of minutes before pulling a nice crisp $100 bill to pay her $11 balance.
I looked at her and said “You’re welcome!!” loudly enough for the other folks in line to hear. 2 people behind me said the very same thing.
The shopper in question left very quickly.

I was leaving a big box store recently where the greeter was asking to see the receipt of anyone exiting the store with unbagged items. A large black woman began screaming, “Yo raciss! Yo raciss!” after being asked for her receipt. She began yelling for the store manager in a loud voice. The greeter tried to explain that items not in bags required her to look at a receipt for the merchandise, but the lady stormed off after angrily presenting the receipt (which is all she needed to do in the first place).
Unfortunately, it seems there is a very thin veneer of civility these days. I blame obama.
0bama is as much a symptom as a cause.
The perp had a history of violence and starting to look like he was wanting a fight. He already had weapons hidden outside. I know a lot about thin than I want to because the deputy is my son. He’s tough and determined and eager to get back to work. God calls certain people into this kind of work. It’s not something I could do. Hearing about another officer being shot an in this case killed just hurts my heart all over again.

That’s what’s been missing for a lonnnnnng time — common moral feedback from ‘the village’.
Those like you and me, willing to apply a sound moral correction or lesson to a misbehaving villager, have been whack-a-moled into silence. Happens here, even.
Morals are now relative, not common. “It’s your thing, do what you wanna do.” “Mind your own business!” “Don’t you talk at my kid!” “Excuuuuuuuuuse me?!” “You’re not boss of me!”
Used to be, if a kid publicly misbehaved, any number of villagers would set them straight, pronto. And the kids knew that would happen. Spankings happened, too; by dad when he got home, usually. Ahhh, old school village discipline...
