Retired NFL Super Bowl champion-turned community leader Burgess Owens on Wednesday slammed a proposal to study reparations for slavery and instead proposed that the Democrat Party pay for “all the misery” brought upon African-Americans.
“I used to be a Democrat until I did my history and found out the misery that that party brought to my race… Let’s pay restitution. How about the Democratic Party pay for all the misery brought to my race.”
Coincidentally, I just watched this.
Worth watching.

The dems use Blacks for votes and money. Every election cycle, they promise Blacks the moon, compliments of Whitey, and to get back at evil Republicans. After the election, they do nothing for Blacks. During the next election cycle, they make promises ..... (repeat forever.)
Blacks need to realize that dems want them poor and miserable, so the dems can promise them the world, and then not give it, keeping them poor and miserable.
I know what a rotten deal Blacks got in the past. We can’t change the past. Those of us who had nothing to do with it refuse to pay reparations!

I have (and read most of) his book entitled “Liberalism”. The lefties will simply dismiss him because he’s a Mormon. The most valuable part of his book is when he focuses on elite blacks (particularly W.E.B. Dubois) working against the then-growing black working/middle class for the elites own prestige and gain.
Burgess Owens is one solid guy.
You got that right. I have followed Burgess since he played football at the U of Miami. He was an excellent student as he was a student in a class my dad taught. I remember my dad remarking what a good student he was in his class.
