It used to be that "progressives" said "If everybody had contraceptives --- and that's what Planned Parenthood is all about ---- there would be no abortions."

And...? Contraception instead of Abortion? Sure, it's intuitive, sounds good in theory, "If abortion is the fire, contraception is the water", right? but history and human nature show it doesn't work that way.

We've had contraception since Margaret Sanger started her first clinic 103 years ago, in Brownsville, NY. (1916! How time flies!) And what we've learned is that contraceptive acceptance boosts the demand for abortion. I don't have the space to explain it, but it's true.

Turns out, if abortion is the fire, contraception is the gasoline.
