Yes. The in crowd elite Republicans (dare I say Deep State and Swamp dwellers all?) love their cushy jobs and expect to stay for decades. The 4 star restaurants, gifts from foreign lobbyists and our own, and being treated like kings and queens all appeal to them.
But, how do they really think they will be treated by Bolshevik style Bernie Soros, and AOC despotic power brokers. All Dem House,Senate and President in 2021 would be like Mao and Fidel for decades with no legal opposition.
Fidel (and others) said: I was put in power by the people of Cuba. To safeguard the people’s revolution I will not allow another election during this emergency. We must make secure the benefits of the new system.
For our own “good” the leftists will either cancel next elections or will fix them like Iran, North Korea and Russia to be the result every time: “glorious leader wins with 100% of votes.”
I think both established Democrats and Republicans in Congress has played the game “You won this time and we will win the next time so don’t do anything to jeopardize our hold on power”.
