I’ve never fished in the Smokies (see my other post!), but my family vacationed there several years ago. We enjoyed visiting a few of the TVA Dams, and the drive from Fontana Dam along the Little Tennessee River to “Tail of the Dragon”*, then after that again along the river on US 129 and points west, intercepting as much water as possible...
*Pulling a camper or driving a big RV on Tail of the Dragon is NOT recommended.
We thought the train ride on The Great Smoky Mountain Railroad would be cool too, but never got around to it. :-(

Did you see the tree at Deals Gap where they have all the wrecked motorcycle parts???
BTW, about the Smokey Mountain Railroad ride...If you want to go in the fall to see the colors, you need reservations made early, and I mean EARLY...like maybe April/May...
