My story begins with my mami (mommy).

She had just found out she was pregnant again when she decided to immigrate to the United States. She was tired of working long hours, jumping from town to town and still not being able to provide for her growing family.

Their taxes, if they actually pay them, don’t come close to paying for the welfare they would receive if they were eligible.

Aimee Mestas needs to explain the arithmetic on how it’s possible for the typical illegal immigrant family of 10, where the parents (best case scenario) earn minimum wage, could possibly contribute more in taxes than they consume in social services - taking into account the fact that they use emergency rooms as primary health providers (paying zero) and their 10 kids all attend special “bilingual” education programs to the detriment of students who have a legal right to be there.
