To: HANG THE EXPENSE

Back in the late ‘70s, I was invited to dinner at the home of a Hawaiian gun collector. At the end of the evening, he had one more surprise to show me - the wingtip of a Val downed during the Pearl Harbor attack.

He was a young kid back then and he’d found the wingtip in the street and dragged it into his garage.

Wow,That would be one hell of a collectors item today.I wonder if he ever found out which aircraft it came off of?
