“Thomas Jefferson plagiarized from John Locke...”

No, Locke’s writings were out there in the public domain, and had a tremendous influence on the Founding Fathers and Jefferson never tried to lead anyone to think he originated it all. It is like today someone quoting the Bible. Only thing, Jefferson should have copied more faithfully, as Locke had it life, liberty, and the pursuit of property.

Also, the context of the thread was about King’s sexual immorality, which was many degrees worse than mere plagiarizing. And, by the way, all that info about King’s carrying on has long been out there even before his assassination. That is what alerted Hoover to document it.

It’s still plagiarism since he largely copied John Locke’s stuff. Richard Henry Lee even accused Jefferson of plagiarism at one point, if Mises is to be believed: https://mises.org/library/real-jefferson

As far as sexual immorality, I agree, that’s a very bad mark on MLK, not denying such was the case. However, I also must remind you that even Donald Trump has done sexual immorality as well, yet he was STILL the better candidate compared to Hillary Clinton, or especially her husband Bill Clinton. And let’s not forget Eisenhower, who is reputed to have cheated on his wife, and he’s considered one of our better presidents.
