Some years ago, during an election cycle, we had a couple of state politicians and a candidate for a judgeship visit our wide-spot-in-the-road community in Arizona.

I talked with the judicial candidate about DNA freeing innocent people and we both thought it the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I then asked him, why, when DNA and other forensics proved beyond a doubt that a murderer was guilty, wasn’t the appeals process cut short and the guy executed much sooner than 20-30 years.

Deer in headlights. Conversation shifted to other subjects, no matter how I tried to steer him back. Voted against him but he still got in.

Like all lib issues. There is an absence of logic and rationality. Folks are sick of the guilty mocking them from their CC prison environments while their loved ones lives are gone. There is no justice because they contort and twist the law.
