Durham reportedly examining documents generated by ‘fusion cell’ set up by Brennan for ‘Spygate’

The U.S. attorney from Connecticut assigned by Attorney General William Barr to look into the origins of the Obama-era “Spygate” probe is reportedly examining documents generated by a “fusion cell” of officials established by former CIA Director John Brennan.

John Durham, who specializes in official corruption cases, has been looking into the origins of the Spygate probe for several weeks now. In a tweet Wednesday, investigative reporter Paul Sperry noted, “According to Main DOJ sources, Durham’s portfolio for looking into the provenance of CH includes examining docs generated by an interagency ‘fusion cell’ Brennan set up in mid-2016 on Russian election interference + pre-election briefings Steele gave to UK intelligence”…

It would be interesting to hear Durham’s answer to a “journalist” asking if he was aware of Bongino’s book. If there were any journalists left, that might happen.

One IMPORTANT question that WILL come up: DID Hussein Obama ORDER subordinates to spy, attempt to entrap.... Trump and his organization?

Which RAT will go down first?

We were all just following orders from the Commander-in-Chief.

Its inconceivable to me that Obama did not know and/or direct Spygate. Bureaucrats don’t go rogue on their boss as none want to risk causing political damage to them, or even worse put their superiors in legal jeopardy. No, they take their marching orders from above. They always get approval or tacit encouragement to do what the boss wants.

Barr and Durham will have a tough road to hoe. The ‘principles’ and their minions involved in Spygate are very well practiced at denying, distracting and dissembling. Its going to take awhile to unravel the details of the plot against Trump as well as other prior abuses that certainly occurred under Obama’s tenure.

It’s beginning to appear as this thing unfolds that Comey will be the one that receives the brunt of the blowback.

He signed 3 of the 4 “illegal” FISA warrants and as head was responsible for the FBI and all their highly suspect if not illegal behavior.

That being said, I can’t believe he’ll go under the bus willingly and if push comes to shove facing serious jail time he’ll sing long and loud taking everybody even remotely associated with this entire coup down to minimize his penalty.

Just a hunch, but I think Rosenstein was the first to cooperate to save his sorry ass. He is the smartest one in the cabal and was probably perceptive enough (by being in a high position in DOJ) to see the worm turning. Note that despite his obvious involvement/knowledge how he has managed to float around the periphery of the scandal without being sucked directly into the vortex. I think he helped Barr just enough to escape accountability.

The other members of the cabal are probably worried about the same scenario unfolding and the implications for them. They are all wondering who the weak link in the chain is going to be.

I hear from people familiar with the investigation that indictments will be forthcoming in a year or two in not in months.

That doesn’t surprise me. Multiple agencies involved, numerous people at various levels, prior related activities, etc. Its going to be a very complex mosaic to weave together, even with all the information that is already available.

In the interest of restoring some sense of integrity back into our government in a timely manner Barr and company may have to phase their work. Tackle the FISA problems first, then move onto the planning and execution of Spygate and its related history.

You’re quite right, but what’s missing in this conversation is that the Obama administration sanctioned electronic surveillance, i.e., SPYING, on American citizens (remember James Rosen, his parents?) long before the 2016 election. Furthermore, having lived and worked in the IC cesspool for over 40 years, I have my “sources” too and I’m told by A1 sources that Chief Justice John Roberts and others received special attention from the Obama administration almost immediately after Obama’s inauguration.

Accept going in that, for both political and practical reasons, the prosecution of the conspirators in what was/is clearly an attempted coup will be limited, as will the release of information. For example, the official involvement of the British government will be downplayed (if acknowledged at all) because of the leverage we will gain by holding it over their head. Similarly, there will be (more?) cooperating witnesses that will probably appear to get off completely by offering damning information on reviled targets like Brennan, whom no one likes.

In order to expedite his investigations Barr may have seen fit to (reluctantly) go easy on RR in exchange for getting insights into who did what. This could save him a lot of time and allow him to focus on key people and events.

Also note that RR’s presence at Barr’s press conference was useful.

It wouldn’t be the first time that a distasteful quid pro quo was made to achieve a larger objective.

Wray is not “working with” Barr and Durham; he’s working to hide information from them. So is the DNI, Dan Coats.
