What was wrong in complying with the will of the British electorate way back when they expressed their choice to Brexit in a free and fair election?

Or do the people’s elected representatives really think they are better than their constituents.

May’s task was to stop Brexit. Her globalists masters are pretty happy

Her desperation to pass the surrender treaty is palpable. She tried THREE TIMES and got shut down three times by Parliament. Now she’s trying again with some completely transparent window dressing.

Her only hope is that Comrade Corbin will betray the country and go along with it and that a large chunk of Labour MPs won’t defect if he does - even though 40% of Labour voters voted for Brexit.

WTF? The Brits voted to leave the EU.

It’s over. What a bunch of wankers in government. 20 years from now, they’ll still be talking about a “deal”?

Maybe Caroline will give her a “Profiles in Courage” award. Normally those are given to politicians who sell out the interests of their voters.

I believe everybody is tired already EU included. The Germans should kick them out and build the wall in Ireland.

err.. what election? you mean the 2017 election when the parliament was hung and the Tory-DUP coalition hangs on by 1 seat? That election where Theresa May LOST a majority in an unnecessary election (there had already been one in 2015 when the Tories had a majority on their own)?

Or would you be confusing the advisory, non-binding referendum (which has no role in the UK constitution) in 2016 with an “election”?

If May wanted to stop Brexit she had two simpler ways to do this

1. Not call for article 50. The referendum was an explicitly non-binding advisory referendum. She was under no obligation to act on it politically in any way. There could have been political fall-outs and rebellions yes, but not enough to call for a non-confidence win.

BUT, she had a better option, that British governments have used on other topics fo centuries

2. Say “yes, Brexit and we will set up a committee to find out the best means and ways to call for Article 50” and put this to a QUANGO. The quango would go away and discuss for months before bringing to parliament a question then going back away. In short Brexit would be discussed until it was forgotten.

With the option 2 in her pocket she could have had Brexit and no worries for her (and no Brexit).

So, no, she actually wanted to deliver Brexit - because she is a witless arrogant....

the Brits voted in a non-binding, advisory referendum that they wanted to “leave the EU” - and technically that is what May’s bad deal gives - where the UK leaves the EU but remains in a customs union.

What? You meant leave the customs union? then be specific.

the referendum was like asking 100 people if they want to keep their current gym or not as a group package. 52 saying let’s leave and 48 saying stay. But the 52 still had some who wanted to see if they can get a daily package or others who wanted an occasional visit package.

The slim majority of the English and Welsh who voted in a non-binding, advisory referendum said they wanted to “leave” the EU but with differing ideas on what they meant by that.

The other 26 countries can’t let the Republic of Ireland suffer with the wall built in NI.

The best option is to cut NI free and let the island of great britain with the Isle of Man, Orkneys, Jersey and Guernsey and Sark go out of the EU and the custom’s union. A big question mark over Gibraltar though

err.. sorry - to which one did you mean?

the 2016 non-binding referendum or the 2017 general election?

“Non-binding advisory referendum”

What’s the point of something like that? Sounds like a waste of money.

The Brits voted in a national referendum that all parties swore to uphold.
