I would argue something different. Rand Paul (like Bernie) seems to say what he believes, without first examining it to see if it will help him or not.
Trump pretty much does the same thing.
Don’t agree at all. Rand is right, Bolton has one agenda, war and chaos. Why? Because that is the plan that has been devised for reasons obvious to anyone with more than a double digit IQ.

Paul seems to be a very inconsistent supporter of our President and I question his reasoning at times.
As for the deployment I agree that we should not go looking for another war in that backward part of the world where our presence is not wanted or particularly needed, but of course we have to defend ourselves with vigor if we or or allies are attacked.
And somebody doesn't appreciate the difference between "malign" and "malignant".
