She is filling the air with hot again. In the United States, individual states are responsible for setting their own usury laws. The only time it can be considered under federal control is if it involves interstate commerce. And many decry within the states that usurious practices are hurting consumers while others claim that the absence of usury laws open up access to credit for more people.

The federal government does say that violent actions can not be part of the transactions. Therefore, no one is forcing anyone to use a credit line, the consumer decides for themselves. And if you follow the laws of the states you wish to utilize for the credit, you can shop per state, also. Don’t be stupid, and you won’t have a problem. But she starts with a stupid thought.

Of course it does. And the results resemble when, in essence, the feds force Fannie and Freddie May to give people mortgages they can’t repay.

As was said of blacks and Cadillacs in the seventies,
“We don’t have ‘em long, but we have ‘em first.”
