Yes, whatever happened to letting a woman decide what to do with her body, is that only about killing babies or equal pay for physical labor of any type to earn a living.
just the facts sir
They belong behind bars.
We should all remember this when we start to think that the cops are on "our side."
You need to work on your reading comprehension.
A couple of em, apparently.
“As a Christian, I have to stop you from spoouting anymore of you holier than thou drivel. Just stop. You dont baptize people by holding their heads underwater until they agree with your veiw of the Bible. . Love the sinner, hate the sin. Pray for them. God chose you and he choses who he wants for himself. Bashing everyone else is not whats needed here.”
Sounds an awful lot like those who say, “Prophecy smooth things.”
People in this forum defend prostitution. Speaking out against it is not being “holier than thou”. But it is ironic that you preach “love the sinner” and “pray for them” and accuse me FALSELY of “bashing” people. My comments were not directed toward any one particular person. But YOUR comments ARE directed at one person: ME.
So, how about if you take your own advice and love me the sinner, and don’t spout “holier than thou” comments toward me? How about if you pray for me, the sinner rather than proceeding to do what you think you’ve done, i.e. “stop me”?
There are people on this forum who defend prostitution because THEY pay for sex. How do I know this? I don’t know it from firsthand knowledge about any particular person here. But I do know human nature. And there are people here who are not just upset over heavy-handed police tactics. They actually think prostitution should be legal. And I also know that people who get up in arms about it have some vested interest in protecting it.
What they should be saying is, thank God I have not been caught doing this. Thank God, I don’t have an arrest record for something that the law and God’s word condemns. Please have mercy on me God and show me the way out of my addiction so I can treat women with the kindness and compassion of Christ rather than using them.
But, no, they argue they are not wrong. As Jesus said, “You say you see, so your sin remains.” See John 9:41. I don’t decide who God forgives or who He does not forgive. I am no better than anyone else. I am totally depending on God’s mercy and grace. But pretending that sin is ok is an insult to God’s grace, mercy, and compassion. It is treating the gift of His Son as worthless, whenever someone knows God gave His Son and says, “I will do whatever I want anyway.”
Our society is collapsing. People need to be warned. Some will heed and some will not. You would be wise to consider the truth of what I’ve said rather than focusing on how it makes you or others feel bad. It is not unloving to warn those headed for destruction to turn from it. It is unloving to pretend that God is some lovey-dovey cosmic sugar daddy who never judges anybody. God has already revealed right and wrong through our consciences, through nature, and through His word. Those who reject these witnesses will take the consequences of doing so.
God would not have poured out His wrath on His Son in order to spare us from judgment if sins such as prostitution were no big deal. Jesus died for this sin also. He did not do this so we could continue sinning.
“You are right to rebuke supporters of prostitution. But I don’t think there are any on this thread.”
I’m not singling anyone out, but those who engage in this know if it applies to them.
If the police invaded the privacy of anyone innocent, the victims of this should be able to sue for civil damages. The police should be instructed how to avoid doing so in the future. But that should not cause the evidence to be thrown out.
I don’t think what happened here was any more invasive than the invasive security checks that happen to all commercial flight travelers every day in the U.S. Should smugglers or terrorists have their cases dismissed because of these heavy-handed law enforcement tactics?
“You need to work on your reading comprehension.”
You need to work on specificity.
Based on this conversation, I assert that my reading thoroughness AND comprehension is superior to yours.
Okay, you’re really skewing the distribution with that one...
“No, I think most of them are opposed to BoR violations.”
Here there was probable cause. They didn’t just say, we think massage businesses are all fronts for prostitution.
Explain to me how what the police did here is less invasive than what TSA does to law-abiding citizens daily at the airports, where there in no probable cause.
So if they catch a drug smuggler going through security with a brick of cocaine in his bag, would everyone support letting him go because law enforcement gathered evidence using invasive security protocols?
“I don’t want the government snooping around with cameras either.”
Like every time you get on a commercial flight?

“Lamenting that Kraft is being persecuted doesn’t make us whoremongerers”
I think that Kraft is being prosecuted, not persecuted. However, I can understand those who might argue that it is not the role of law enforcement to publicly shame people for their vices.
On the other hand, prostitution is not a victimless crime. These are those who think so, but this naivety needs to be corrected in order to do more to prevent it.
“This nation has been saved time and again btw by young men who availed themselves to the warm tender temporary physical love of a woman”
War is hell. I’m not going to debate over unwise choices made by young men who faced it. I will say that war is not an excuse to do evil though.
But this particular case did not involve young men at war. It got media attention because of one particular rich old man who was going to a massage business for more than just a massage. What he did was illegal. What he did harms people.
Did he deserve to be publicly humiliated? I don’t know. No more than I deserve it sometimes I think. The issue is whether prostitution should be illegal and what ways such laws should be enforced.
I understand there is a human element to such things. Same applies to things like drinking and driving though. Same applies to someone who has road rage and ends up injuring or killing someone in a fit of anger. We humans are flawed creatures. The cops, the judge, the prostitutes, the johns, and all of us discussing them are just flawed humans. Still doesn’t change what is right and wrong.
Except that you totally misread the tone of the thread.
F-
Drama Queen.
These cops weren't fighting human trafficking. They were pervs watching porn for almost a year. They were hoping to get somebody important to shake down.
I used to have a lot of respect for LEOs. I used to have a lot of respect for our representatives in congress too.
“Except that you totally misread the tone of the thread.”
A person who is tone deaf should not critique others on the subject.
“F-”
Since the context of your post is what I assume to be an attempt to apply a letter grade to my “reading comprehension” skills, I’ll point out that as an English major with a focus on creative writing and a perfect 4.0 GPA, you are unqualified to grade my reading comprehension. So, your animus is showing, and my assertion stands.
“Drama Queen.”
What else you got? “I’m rubber and you’re glue”?
... I’ll point out that as an English major with a focus on creative writing and a perfect 4.0 GPA...
Your mommy must be so proud.
Great line.
“Your mommy must be so proud.”
Yet another childish comment. I suppose it should not surprise me when it comes from someone who appears to be deeply disturbed by my critique—not of a person—but of the practice of prostitution and the support of it on a conservative, family-friendly, faith-friendly forum.
My mom is dead—as if that is any of your business. But thanks for your “inciteful” comment two days after mother’s day.
No one brought your family into this conversation. I’ll appreciate it if you refrain from such comments in the future.
I will remind you that you are violating the policies of this forum when you make “personal attacks”. Forum participants will find this word combination just below the button that must be clicked to post comments, in case “reading comprehension” makes it difficult to find.
If you continue to do so, I will report it. Because not one single thing you’ve posted to me contains anything meaningful or is in any way a contribution to the discussion of the matter this thread is about. It is merely your personal attack against me, and that is the ONLY thing your posts to me contain.
The original comment I made, to which you posted, was not directed toward any individual on this forum. But you chose from the start to make it personal.
#44 — “You” and “your” when critiquing my “reading comprehension” (a thing which the poster of said comments has no way of knowing and provided no specific examples to support)
#54 — Name calling
#57 — “Your mommy”. Whenever a person uses “you” or “your” it is a risk of the comment being at least perceived as personal. Same applies when specifying familial relationships, especially when the one posting does not know anything about the familial relationships he is posting about. And when it is combined with insults and name-calling, it is an attack.
