You know, that’s another thing that gets me because nobody talks about it.

Asylum. From Central American countries.

Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Panama are all democracies. Nicaragua barely so.

I don’t think the governments in these countries are repressing/oppressing anyone, so why in the Sam Hill Hell do they need to seek asylum???!!!

Sure MS-13 is a terrible gang, but gangs are NOT government. You shouldn’t be able to seek asylum from a gang.

The whole thing is bull shite, and every one knows it.

They’re claiming asylum to get into this country for purely economic reasons.

It would be fair and just to deny all of asylum claims from Central Americans.

Losing face is tempered by the specter of a nuclear war. No one wants that, including NK.

I get plenty of info right here on FR.

It's no coincidence that I joined FR about 6 months after I got rid of my TV for good.

China is run by a dictator (President for Life) and the Communist Party. Popular opinion is not a threat to the regime. Xi’s only challenge would come from the party itself. I would assume any decisions on trade with the US go thru the party apparatus. They nixed the deal signed on to by their own negotiators.

And even more so, United States actually HAS a process for that. A million or more use this LEGAL process to get in every year.

I especially hate the lie the USA won’t let these people in because the powers that be are “racist”.

Yet nobody on God’s green earth let’s in more “People of Color”™, by numbers and ratio, than the good ole USA. Too much legal immigration if you ask me, also.

But nevertheless, the process isn’t good enough for these criminals... They lie, steal and jump the line.

Met Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, Bill Walton, Chief Parrish, DJ, Danny Ange. Greatest ever team!

Those were the years that Boston fans enjoyed the Celtics, the Red Sox, the Bruins and even the Patriots who made a great run until Russ Francis broke his leg against Ditcka's Bears.

There is very little difference between Basketball and Soccer - pitch is bigger, a few more players and feet vs. Hands. The same tactics apply, the same quantity of physical contact. Players who have vision of the whole field make for a great game.

What soured me on Basketball in the mid-late 80's was the lack of refereeing - No fouls were called on "start" players like Chocolate Thunder, no walking was called.

The passing game and the Three point game of the late 70s/early 80s Celtics was fun to watch.

I moved to Hunspatch Al. in 86. The Hsv Stars had the Conseko brothers, McGwuire and the Third basemen (cannot remember his name) All went on to the Majors.

First time I went to the stadium I set on the First base side, beer in hand. The crazy Baptists told me that side of the stands was a NO Alcohol side - so all the rest of the time I went to the Starts games I sat on the Third base site. Great stadium, fun place to watch baseball

Well, popular opinion may not be an issue, but what would happen if there was a huge economic depression because Xi couldn’t make a deal with Trump?

The people would go nuts. They would not willingly go back to the austerity of the previous generation without a fight.

Young millennials in the Party would use this to challenge Xi.

Who knows what else would happen?

War to take the populace’s mind off bad times?

Stepped up, massive Soviet style repression?

A return to the Cultural Revolution?

Even a democratic uprising?

87% of the legal immigrants entering annually are minorities. And the percentage of illegal aliens is even higher. It is why non-Hispanic whites will be a minority in 2043 and why the Dems will become the permanent majority party. Demography is destiny.

When the history of the rise and fall of the US is written, historians will point to the Immigration Act of 1965 that caused the downfall of the US.

Immigrants and their American born children drive 80% of our population growth.

Well then, the Republicans need to go after their votes, first generation Americans are among the most gung ho patriots.

The popular vote decides the electoral outcome in each state.

C'mon, of course there's a popular vote at the state level. You were talking about the national total, and there is no national "popular vote" except to the RATs, who for this reason want to abolish the electoral college system.

When you look at the electoral map, the Dems enjoy a critical advantage that will only grow as the demographics of this country continue to change.

Never mind the "red state/blue state" map. When you look at the county-by-county national electoral map, you can see the cities, Indian reservations, and border counties CLEAR AS A BELL.

You can put your head in the sand and blame it all on illegal aliens and voter fraud. That just isn't the case.

Yeah, I think it is.

When you have California motor/voter fraud registering illegals to vote (and they do)...120+% voters (multi-voting) in Filthydelphia et al, and 60 million illegal aliens nation-wide residing and voting in US elections....take all that away and recalculate your totals.

Trump is trying to deny illegals public housing, asking for citizenship status on the Census, sending them back to Mexico to await hearings on their "asylum" request, threatening to send them to the "sanctuary cities" and other programs to discourage their presence here. Why do you think The RATs hate him so much?

He's not destroying "their democracy" (hint: it's a republic) He's destroying the RAT gravy train.

I loved the Celtics when growing up. I remember the battles on the game of the week on ABC. Celtics vs 76er’s. Russell vs Chamberlain. Auerbach vs Hannum.

You are making my point! Fishing is where its at!!You dont have to hit yourself in the head with a ball either.

I do believe that fishing is for OLD men and children, and yes, I know you are not a spring chicken any longer.

As for me a 28'-33' sailboat is where it could be at if I had the $$$$

Well, popular opinion may not be an issue, but what would happen if there was a huge economic depression because Xi couldn’t make a deal with Trump?

With or without a deal with Trump, China could be heading into an economic downfall of its own making. Corruption and central control are the ingredients of a disaster. China cannot continue its massive growth as the economy grows in size and complexity.

The people would go nuts. They would not willingly go back to the austerity of the previous generation without a fight. Young millennials in the Party would use this to challenge Xi. Who knows what else would happen? War to take the populace’s mind off bad times?

I would venture to say creating an external threat would be one way to unite the populace and defuse internal dissent. I just don't see a popular uprising, democratic or otherwise emerging. The conditioning of the people since 1949 and technological tools available to control and coerce the public are extensive.

If the Dems regain control of the WH in 2020, I can see a return to the old ways of dealing with China ceding long term Chinese economic dominance and American decline in return for a non-confrontational relationship. The multinationals and the Chamber of Commerce will be very happy.
