Great memory for me: A Joe Ely show at Nick's in Dallas turned into an after hours jam that included: Joe on Guitar, Carl Perkins also on guitar (he had opened for the Stones that night at the Cotton Bowl) and Delbert on piano (he had played piano for Carl at his show).
That was the first of many times I saw Delbert!
First time I heard Delbert was probably a 1972. He was still playing in a band called Delbert & Glen in Fort Worth hes from Fort Worth. Yeah he’s a great talent I don’t know why he never really hit the big time but he’s great.
