I don’t know who the guy with with southern accent is but he had me cracking up with his debaaate comment


I would’ve interjected, “Mr. Chairman, Mr. Chairman. ...I was in the pool. I was in the pool...”

Saw on Taiwan news yesterday their house broke out into fist fights. Even the women were involved. A regular side show.

We are approaching this craziness.

These fights usually don't occur in the legislative chambers of countries in the Anglosphere, at least for the last 150 years or so. These countries are mature democracies with long traditions of consensual governance.

These countries also clearly separate the opposing parties in their legislatures. In the parliamentary Anglosphere the government and the opposition are separated by a distance of two sword lengths.

Currently the public would not put up with fights in the legislature. That might be changing and would be a very dangerous sign. The last time this happened in the US, in 1856, it presaged a very violent period.
