The NY state investigators had, for over a month, been trying to get the Feds to look at the emails they found on Weiner’s computer and had gotten to the point of being ready to go public with the fact that these emails, tens of thousands, were on the computer. Comey had tried to stall this exposure but was unable to do so. He had to divulge it on his terms, declare that they were going to review the emails and turn around in a matter of days and claim nothing new was found. The original “exoneration” was confirmed so that Hillary could continue to the coronation, (not). The conservative press, (Conservative Treehouse/Sundance had it already, but the MSM were ignoring it).
He opens it last thing on a Friday night and closes it first thing on a Monday morning.
