A former Republican aide who rejects the scientific community's consensus on climate change said carbon dioxide is not pollution, dredging up a decades-old defense of CO2 emissions in order to write off Beto O'Rourke's newly announced climate plan.
Speaking Tuesday morning with Fox & Friends, the longtime Fox News climate change denier Marc Morano joined host Jedediah Bila in ridiculing the former Texas congressman's $5 trillion climate change proposal.
"First of all, pollution and carbon dioxide, humans, we inhale oxygen and we exhale carbon dioxide, so he's calling CO2 pollution, which it's not," Morano proclaimed Tuesday. "No, this plan is as pie-in-the-sky as the Green New Deal except it's a little bit more tepid."
Fox & Friends co-host Bila labeled O'Rourke's plan "very vague and very nice and very idealistic." But as she listed bullet points of the plan, she derisively dismissed the idea of starting to cut pollution, saying, "whatever that means."
She concluded Americans "won't be so excited" about fighting climate change once they see its effect on their pocketbooks.
Morano, who has appeared on Fox News and other right-leaning international networks for years, frequently refers to climate change or the concept of global warming as "hysteria."

Beto is a Loser.
To the best of my recollection, plants take in CO2 and produce O2 during photosynthesis, in the daytime. At night, this reverses, so O2 is taken in and CO2 is expelled.
The atmosphere of the entire Earth is their “storage battery” to get them through periods of darkness.
Animals show up later to take advantage of this energy-reserve.
This is a textbook example of the Left’s strategy of manipulating language to win arguments in advance. We absolutely have to stop letting them do this. There is no such thing as a “Climate Change Denier”, and there is no “Scientific Consesus”. In fact the phrase “Scientific Consensus” is absurd - political ideologies have consensuses, not actual scientists. This constantly repeated trope that “97% of scientists agree” has no more validity than the “17 intelligence agencies” that concurred about Russian Collusion.
We should refuse to even discuss terms such as “Climate Denier” and “Scientific Consensus” How about we substitute “Communist Climate Hoaxer” and “Orwellian Scientific Fraud” and start our own arguments?
They do both. When engaged in respiration (no light or low light) they release CO2 like animals. When the sun shines they are doing photosynthesis. This fixes CO2 and releases Oxygen. There is a net advantage to photosynthesis. So they use more CO2 (sequester in wood and cellulose) than they release.
Plants absorb and produce both oxygen and carbon dioxide. When there is light, the net balance is more oxygen and less carbon dioxide. At night, this is reversed. But the effect is tiny, and air mixed freely.
CO2 is not a pollution. It is a natural gas. It is currently blamed for ALL the Earth’s heating, while the Sun is completely overlooked.
Read “The Neglected Sun.”
Happer misses the point, warmer is not a function of CO2.
CO2 increases with warming.
Human beings and everything we need to sustain life is based on carbon. Let’s eliminate it and see what happens.
Havent we any scientists on our side
This man does a good job:

When it gets cold, plants go fallow, shed their leaves and they decompose, producing nothing but CO2.
It’s true.. it is NOT a pollution...
Newsweak denies reality ever day.
Pop quiz, how many sexes are there?
The planet is suffering from an Epoch level drought of CO2.
I wonder how many Climate Change Hoax Deniers are even aware of the fact that plants convert CO2 into oxygen.
Did he also point out that CO2 accounts for only 4/10ths of 1% of our atmosphere?
I do too but havent we any scientists on our side who can rebut this nonsense?

You mean the ones who are paid off by the big oil companies to lie about it???? /sheldon
If you want to see how the Climate Change Hoax affects your pocketbook, look at California. The cheapest gas out here is just a hair under $4 a gallon.
What would we get for that $5 trillion?
1. Unreliable power that go out with regularity
2. Very high power prices, probably double, maybe triple today’s prices
3. Tens of millions of dead raptors and bats and possible extinction
4. Billions of dead butterflies and possible extinction
5. America’s spectacular vistas blighted and ruined forever. Wind turbines as far as the eye can see all ove America
6. An area as large as California covered with solar panels blinding airline pilots and cooling the ground underneath. Prime agricultural land gone to waste.
7. Enormous rare earth mines opened all over the earth’s crust on every continent but Antarctica.
8. A gigantic expansion of concrete and steel production and consumption. Huge increase of CO2 from cement calcining.
9. Huge expansion of noise pollution from wind turbines across the U.S. huge increase in annoying flickering shadows from wind turbines. Tens or hundreds of thousands of families forced to leave their long-time and ancestral homes because of deleterious health effects.
10. Gigantic hazardous waste stream from disposal of EV, residential, and utility energy storage batteries.
Compared to today’s world, this is goi g to be a colossal disruption and environmental nightmare. The greenies and politicians are heading us down a disastrous path compared to the highly evolved and optimized conventional power systems we use today.
Exactly. CO2 is a coolant, not a heater. And when it’s cold, the oceans absorb it. When it gets warm they release it, helping to cool the planet.
The whole system was designed to be self correcting, and does a fine job.
