Did Mueller jump or was he pushed?
American Thinker ^ | April 27, 2019 | Jay Latimer

Dedicated armchair observers of insider Washington political maneuvers make a hobby of reading the tea leaves. Like the lethal version in "Game of Thrones," nothing happens by chance; there is always an underlying strategy to every decision.

Which begs the question: Why did Mueller decide to bring his investigation to a close now? Some observers thought it could go on for years — why end it before Trump's term ends? Why end it at all?

My initial reaction, like others, was that Mueller completed his report because he was finished. There were no more leads to follow, and so Mueller decided on his own to voluntarily end it. But on further consideration this seems very naïve.

Mueller and his team of rabid anti-Trumpers had every incentive to keep going indefinitely. The very existence of the Mueller investigation cast a cloud over the Trump presidency. Like every other effort from the #NeverTrump Swamp, they were seeking to hamstring Trump at every turn. Having an ongoing investigation was a valuable weapon in the anti-Trump arsenal. Why give it up?

The idea that Mueller somehow ran out of things to investigate doesn't hold water. Mueller and his team knew over a year ago (if not on day one) that there was no Trump/Russia connection. Mueller could have continued to chum the water by looking into Trump's finances or picked a few other minor players on the Trump team to harass and torture with nighttime SWAT team raids and long stints in solitary confinement. They spent the last year doing just that.

And crucially, keeping the Mueller Investigation open gave the Swamp denizens in the FBI and CIA a legal rationale to deny access to documents that would uncover their spying on the Trump campaign.

We need to see if Barr is keeping Rosenstein around as a witness against Comey, McCabe and company.
Immunity is a wonderful tool.

My guess is that, behind the scenes, this feud between the deep state and Trump has progressed way beyond what we are seeing. The press is giving us the blow by blow of the start of the middle game and in back rooms the end game is being negotiated. Being decided now, who will go under the bus, who will get off scot free, who will be exonerated. This stuff won’t be made public until after the 2020 election.

Barr shut down the Witch Hunt.

The details would be interesting.

No StandUp Guy would have appointed Hack Weasel Mueller and given him crazy powers.

But I doubt this, as Mueller could have fought back against Barr

Probably never know what went down, but it did seem to be a rather quick end once Barr’s name was mentioned and then his confirmation. They could have kept picking off anyone associated with the President, all day and night. Mueller fighting back against, Barr? Maybe. But, maybe Barr does have some integrity and at any instance, have Rosenstein and Mueller, before God and Country, describe what crime was committed to warrant the investigation and where the conflict of interest was. From the beginning, Mueller’s appointment was BS and they all knew it. Let them get in front of the camera’s and put it all out there.

Discredited dossier full of lies and paid for by the opposition. Entrapment on a large scale for things unrelated to the campaign or administration. No proof that anyone hacked the DNC server since it never went through any forensic exam. Barr could have roasted them.

I’m betting that the investigation was slowing down the profitable needed corruption to raise the needed money for 2020. The Dems needed money. They will move on to plan C now.

Sessions out, Barr appointed, and IG report coming - so I’m guessing Mueller saw handwriting on the wall and so he ended his probe now, and in such a way as to shield himself from claims that he was willingly part of something that will soon be revealed to all as an illegal deep-state coup attempt.

He also tried to be like Comey and walk the line between laying out evidence while still not indicting Trump, so he could put distance from the acklash to come while still hoping to stay in favor with the deep state elites and their media allies.

” Rosenstein is starting to look like a stand-up kinda guy “

Rosensweasel urged Trump to fire Comey then used the firing as the excuse to hire Commey’s BFF to be SC. Then he gives Mueller an unlimited budget and no limit in scope or statute of limitations. Then he’s fine with Mueller filling his team with Rat mercenaries. RR used a fabricated document to get a FISA court to authorize spying on Trump.
This is not a “stand up guy” this is a treasonous POS.

Agreed. Although the author’s theory concerning the Horowitz report has merit, I believe that his initial Barr and “an adult in the room” observation makes more sense.

Some have opined that Mueller turned it over to his Congressional Democrat pals once they were in position to harass Trump with demands for tax returns, testimony from every aide, etc. The OSC was both a “perjury trap” and an “obstruction trap”; when both failed, it was time for Congressional showtrials and a pseudo-impeachment process.

The Dems know they have no basis and can’t succeed, but that’s not the objective. Like the Mueller investigation, it’s intended to: harass, aggravate, and distract Trump; hope Trump will do or say something in response that creates an opening for them to exploit; undermine Trump’s ability to work with Republicans, by giving them leverage over him (Congressional investigations mean he needs allies; friends don’t come cheap).

I’ve wondered if there was a deal...end the Mueller fiasco and in return only go after the small fry in regards to the actual spying on a political campaign. Stuff that Obola could say the first time he heard about it was in the newspaper.

Plenty of time has gone by to cover any tracks but there’s always the possibility that they missed something; like Obola’s direct involvement or if not him then some of his more snooty partners in crime.

That, and $5 will get you a cup of coffee.

The article goes on to speculate that the looming release of the IG’s report was the main catalyst for Mueller closing up shop because the report is said to lay bare the spying and sedition scandal. I tend to disagree with that theory simply because the very existence of the SC cabal itself prevented the IG’s access to major pieces of evidence it would seem to me.

I agree, Barr and Mueller had a put up, or shut up meeting.

"Rosensweasel urged Trump to fire Comey"

Somehow RosenWeasel was made to write the Comey Condemnation to give Trump cover to fire Weasel Comey. He didn't initiate it on his own.

The IG reports were coming out. He was operating knowing this; this is what prevented him from continuing his open war on Trump.

"It may be that William Barr's arrival signaled an adult in the room. Finally, an attorney general willing to hold Mueller's feet to the fire."

So was Sessions an active part of the conspiracy; was he incompetent; or did he simply not understand the conspiracy and its magnitude? In any case, he should have known what was going on and refused to serve as its enabler.
