When that feminine compassion is wrongly harnessed towards criminals, it has the opposite effect that it would when channeled towards those deserving of it. Criminals see compassion of any kind as weakness, and it invites more criminality.

Agreed. That is how most evil people view compassion. Even the beadiest-eyed thug sees readily sees weakness in misplaced compassion even if they can’t cover the simplest of their tracks.

As a people, as Christians, and as a nation, we can be compassionate, but misguided compassion in any role (especially as a nation) can be just as corrosive and destructive as outright lawbreaking.

Being misguided in your personal or Christian compassion can, at worst, result in personal injury or death.

At a national level, misguided compassion can result in wars, genocide, and the fall of nations.
