I don’t think we ought to care who sells the beer or even announces the game as long as he or she does a good job. That’s just sardonic. But referees should match the gender of the game players.
If the point of a sport is just to be a stag event as such, it seems to miss the point. It should be about contests for excellence, among fairly matched contenders.
