I bought an American-made Maytag washer and dryer set earlier this year. If it cost more than it might have without a tariff, I didn’t notice. I value American jobs.
Personally I only by older reconditioned models. At least until the Bush era environmental specs which prevent them from actually getting your clothes clean are repealed.
I also bought American and didn’t note the difference. However, the NYTimes claims that I must have been left “with a sky-high bill for every factory job created.”

Maytag machines are not made in the US. They are assembled in the US.
