After the NZ attack a few weeks ago, the three Muslims who work in my department were practically in mourning, milking the incident for all it was worth. They even got a day off. For the next week or so, they were bemoaning the hate and prejudice toward Muslims that motivated the attack.
Of course, if were to voice the same concerns after this attack, that would be “unacceptable workplace harassment”.
