CHICAGO Two ranking executives inside the Cook County States Attorney's Office have submitted their resignations including States Attorney Kim Foxxs chief ethics officer, April Perry, whom Foxx cited as the person who advised her to recuse herself from the Jussie Smollett case that has rocked the Chicago office, Fox News learned Thursday.
Mark Rotert, the director of the office's Conviction Integrity Unit, has also submitted his resignation, according to a Foxx spokesperson. Perry and Rotert are scheduled to work their last days on the job in May.
"While I feel lucky to have been able to spend the last 15 years of my career in public service, I am looking forward to my next endeavor in the private sector where I have the opportunity to continue to work toward increasing the safety of our community," Perry wrote in an April 15 letter obtained by Fox News via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.

It’s not just Smollett...
rats, ship
Came here to say exactly that.
So, instead, I’ll say this. These people are like folks who vote a town dry and then move. It beats giving up booze, and those left behind will stop sinning.
“April Perry, whom Foxx cited as the person who advised her to recuse herself from the Jussie Smollett”
Humm, why would the person whom seemingly did the right thing be leaving? A lot more to this story to come.
Integrity, my aunt fanny.
“Integrity” means different things to different people. Foxx was faithful to her values.
Theres a very specific legal process for a prosecutorial recusal here in Illinois. Foxx completely ignored it.
