They don't need to be smart.....just carry the drumbeat their handlers tell them to......which they can't seem to remember and why they screw up so often. Like an actor forgetting their script who has no experience at ad-libbing. Give them a couple years or more and it'll be seamless. Though I don't think there's hope for AOC at all.
