I think it’s a matter of marketing. There is an equation that says if you put x amount into marketing something, you will make y amount of money. The test to see if it worked was The Pet Rock. It made exactly the amount predicted. I think you can do the same with people. In the ‘70’s a promoter would turn anybody into a superstar for a year. It could be anybody and talent was not a consideration. And, so, these poor kids would be covered with fame and glory and then...disappear into nothingness. I suspect that the moment the “marketing” carried out by the media stops, that AOC will disappear.
(I have to wonder if AOC’s creators are having second thoughts. Her general lack of intelligence and grace have made her into a gaff machine. She is the perfect example of better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. Oh, and her little girl voice, like arsenic, is okay in small doses.)
And here I thought government freebies in exchange for Demonrat voters, was driving it.

I don't think the way to deal with her is name calling. That just plays into the left’s hands - and won't change the opinions of those who believe what her and the rest of the left are saying. I think the way to deal with her is to consistently call her out publicly, and respectfully, on the dogma she keeps pushing - and refute her factually.

Anyone who has wasted a little time taking in anything the leftists have spewed out over the last decade or more knows this. For the rest of you, we can save you some time. Once you've heard the leftists blame something on one of these boogiemen issues/traits/whatever then you've pretty much heard all of their whining. These are all they have. Their fundamental message is the world is a terrible place because these things run rampant (all real evidence to the contrary) and if we'd only give them complete power and control over our lives they could make things so much better. Yeah, 1930s Germany better. 2010s Venezuela better. Because things are so bad here people are fleeing the US by the tens of thousands and illegally entering other Countries...oh...wait...that's right, the actual situation is reversed. Gee, things must not be all that terrible here after all.

It is my observation that many dems, AOC included, use bumper sticker slogans exclusively. There is no substance behind any proposal they spew.
