What would Roosevelt had done if Congress, the courts and internal state apparatus had frustrated USG attempts to respond to Japan after Pearl? Would he have endlessly droned on the radio about how the opposition was responsible for continuing death & destruction?
Same exact question with respect to Lincoln after the events leading up to, and subsequent, to what occurred at Ft Sumter.
It really is time to ask some hard questions. The first, of course, is Trump serious? I have my doubts, as it appears to me perfectly rationale to discover a rot so deep that it's useless to correct. Sometimes it's best to just demolish the foundation and start over from scratch.
OK, let's change tack; assume Trump is serious about national security. So, when is the next shoe going to drop? Where is the declaration of a state of insurrection, of an enemy within, of calling out the militia, and ordering federal troops to occupying Calif & NY?
When you grab a tiger by the tail, do you let go or hang on? How many Americans really want to find out what's been going on the last 30-40 years? Who's behind the southern invasion? Who bought the USG? What is the intent - to eliminate over the long-term the US as a global military/economic force?
Any logical person who is aware of the various issues, and has any respect/interest in history, can only really come to a few conclusions. What one does about them is another issue altogether.
I pray to the Lord that this occurs. CA & NY have LONG needed tanks rolling on their capitals to stop the insurrection there.
After Pearl Harbor it was easy to get America on board. Roosevelt had actually been working on getting the public in favor of war for years but he could not pull that off before.
